Waitress The Musical Review #WaitressMusical

I have been getting such great opportunities lately to attend Broadway shows. I am loving it! Bring it on! I was invited to see Waitress at the Brooks Atkinson Theater. I have seen the commercials and thought it was such a sweet show with amazing music by Sara Bereilles. I couldn’t wait to see it with my girl Nichol.

WAITRESS tells the story of Jenna. A waitress and expert pie maker, Jenna dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.

The show tugged at my heart strings. I felt Jenna’s heart ache but I laughed with her. The female leads Jenna, Dawn & Becky epitomizes true friendships and the desire of woman. We all want to be loved and they way these women go about getting it will bring you sheer joy. I have to say Dawn, played by my favorite GLEE alumni Jenna Ushkowitz, was amazing! Her “nerdy” demeanor was spot on & innocent.

If you plan on seeing any show on Broadway please go see this one. It’s the perfect girls night out or date night. The show is literally a slice of heaven!
