This weekend Andre & I were invited to an event at Liberty Science Center hosted by The Real Housewives of New Jersey Melissa Gorga. I was amongst several bloggers that were there to preview their newest exhibit the Infinity Climber.
The Infinity Climber is suspended 35 feet above the Center’s atrium floor. It is a multi-story play space with 64 petal like platforms anchored to mammoth curved steel pipes. It is the world’s first suspended climbing play space of its kind. Up to 50 children and adults can navigate the structure at once.
I have to admit I was totally terrified at first. My niece & I looked at each other and were totally not ready to climb aboard this suspended structure. I had to bite my fear and head in with Andre. There was a lot of wrangling between the wired webs. It requires you to maneuver your body to fit through tight spaces and quick thinking on how to get to that next petal. It was definitely a work out but we loved it. If I wasn’t too worried about getting stuck I would’ve climbed to the top. Andre went through a couple of times and quickly forgot how high up we were from the bottom.
Liberty Science Center is hosting a 12 days of Science starting December 20 – January 1st in time for the kids holiday break from school. There are so many activities that will sure to keep the kids entertained. After our climb, we checked out the many exhibits and easily spent another 2 hours there. It was exhausting but so worth it!
