On our recent trip to Boston, one of my must do’s was to eat at the original Wahlburgers restaurant. I watch their reality show and have always been a huge NKOTB fan so I knew that I couldn’t be in Massachusetts and not attempt a trip there.
The restaurant is located in Hingham, Massachusetts. Located in the Hingham shipyard area, it is a great location to shop & eat. Across from Wahlburgers is their mom, Alma’s restaurant Alma Nove.
The line wasn’t too long for a Sunday afternoon. We waited about 20 minutes. There were 2 different lines. One was for table service; the other was cafeteria style. We opted for the cafeteria style where we order our own food and look for a table. Either way, the service was quick. The staff was attentive & made sure that everyone knew which line to be on. Especially since it was rather hot out in the sun.
The menu had so much to offer that we wanted to try a bit of everything. So we each ordered a different burger. I had the Melt (the government cheese got me) and hubby had the Donnie’s choice. Andre ordered the kids chicken fingers with sweet potato fries. Hubby wanted to try the chili as well. I figured if Nacho could miss the Entourage LA premiere to eat some chili then it must be good! (see episode 5)
The food didn’t disappoint. The burgers were your average sized but full of flavor. The chili was delish! We were stuffed but made sure we didn’t leave any left. We really wanted to stop by Alma’s place too but we just couldn’t fit any more.
I loved the decor of the restaurant. It’s filled with photos of their childhood. Hung from the ceilings were the titles of Donnie & Mark’s films. It was pretty cool.
Wahlburgers has gained such success that they have and are planning to open many more locations in Massachusetts, Las Vegas, Florida, Pennsylvania and New York!
I’m excited that they finally announced they are official opening in Coney Island tomorrow at noon! Read about it here http://www.theconeyislandblog.com/?p=2085
So if you’re in Brooklyn head out early & grab a burger! You won’t be disappointed!
Although I didn’t get to see any of the brothers while at the restaurant, I hope to bump into them one day at one of their several locations!
