In today’s day and age it is inevitable that you will see a child at any age using some type of electronic device. It has become the new norm. I am guilty of it. It tends to be “easier” to hand a child a device so they can be occupied. However I firmly believe that it shouldn’t always be about playing games but an education factor needs to be placed. I was excited to hear and learn more about the School Zone Little Scholar tablet.
Sophie was drawn to the bright rubberized case. The tablet looks very similar to an iPad which she is very familiar with. So I knew it may be a bit tricky to convince her to use this one.
The tablet can be personalized with your child’s name which I loved. It comes pre-loaded with over 200+ educational apps that there was so much to choose from. Sophie enjoyed playing and following along while reading. It was easy for her to follow using the sound icon. It is a definitely a great tool to prepare her for the head start program next year.
Another great feature are the parental controls. I can track her progress as well as see which apps she is using. This guides me to know what her strong areas are and what I need to focus more on for her.
Little Scholar was named to 2015 Toy Insider Hot Holiday Toy List and I agree! This is a definite must have if you have a school aged child. This will help Sophie get a jump start when she enters school. I don’t feel guilty if she is playing on it because I know she is learning. Perfect for road trips since it can run without Wi-fi for hours of educational fun.
Little Scholar™ is recommended for kids ages 3-7 and features an 8-inch screen and runs on a Google Android 4.4.4 operating system. It has 8gb of internal memory. It is ready to play with our without Wi-fi. A free bumper is included with purchase. For more information you can go to https://www.schoolzone.com
