Cooking Healthy With Outer Spice

Cooking isn’t one of my favorite things to do but I know it’s necessary for my family. I suffer from migraines with salty foods so usually when I cook my dishes tend to have no flavor which is an epic fail for a hubby who grew up with flavorful foods. So I was excited when I was introduced to a new company called Outer Spice. They are a low salt or no salt, gluten free healthy spice & herb blends.

Based in Austin, Texas Outer Spice was founded in 2010 by Ben Stevens. After he fell ill, he went to the Caribbean islands and discovered an all natural remedy to cure him. He returned home & began creating his own natural blends of spices & herbs. Soon he discovered the need for natural healthy seasonings. There are currently 4 varieties sold and I was sent the Original (low salt) & Spicy blends (no salt).

The Original blend contains the following ingredients: Himala brand pink sea salt, garlic, black pepper, onion, allspice, nutmeg, thyme, scallions, red pepper, onion powder, peppers, cinnamon, dill, caraway and spices. The Spicy blend contains garlic, black pepper, onion, allspice, thyme, lemon thyme, basil, scallions, red pepper, peppers, dill, caraway, cayenne pepper, nutmeg and other spices. Both are packed with ingredients that produce such taste to your foods.

Rather than use her usual recipe for salmon, my mom seasoned it with the original blend and nothing else. As you can see in the photo above, the salmon was packed with rich flavors. Each herb & spice really popped in your mouth.

We have been using these spices frequently. It actually makes cooking easier since all you need is in one bottle. I am happy to say that I have not suffered from any migraines.

Each spice retails for $6.99 for a 3.75oz bottle. Outer Spice is currently available for purchase online at http://www.outerspiceit.com/shop/  They are currently offering FREE shipping with no minimum purchase this month!

Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to get updates on their products.

Disclosure: I was sent samples to review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
