I love love Broadway shows. Whenever I can get an opportunity to attend one I jump at the opportunity. I am still trying to convince the hubby to get me tickets for Hamilton. I mean a couple of thousand for a ticket is worth it, right? LOL Well I was recently invited to see Cirque Du Soleil’s PARAMOUR at the Lyric Theater. I am a huge fan of Cirque Du Soleil. I have seen several of their shows so I was interested in the conept of a Broadway show.
I invited a few of my coworkers who none of them had seen a Cirque Du Soleil show. I wanted them to experience the thrill that I fell in love with. So I was a bit worried that this may not live up to the repuation but my fear was soon eased. PARAMOUR is a tale of an obsessed movie director who is in love with his leading lady who is in love with the music composer. The story line was a bit obvious but the artistry of what makes Cirque Du Soleil magical quickly took over.
Twin brothers fly gracefully above your head while performing together held merely by rope and their own strength. It leaves you breathless and in amazement.
The music & dancing are the Broadway appeal to the show. But what makes this show are the flips, and flying. That is what makes this show memorable. One of my favorite scenes is the rooftop chase. The trampoline jumping in and out of building landscapes brings the show back to what it’s known for. It’s high intensity acrobats.
